About The Book
The Abhijnanasakuntalacarca , the subject of the present study is one of the significant commentaries on Abhijnanasakuntalacarca from Kerala. The author points out the improper and wide deviations made by professional actors of Kerala, cikyars, in the performance of drama, from the stipulations and fine suggestions made by Bharatamuni. In this respect the work resembles Nat. ff rikuta which also levels severe criticism against the improper practices of calkyars, for violating dramaturgical principles. Dr.V.P.Vimala has succeeded in making a critical evaluation of A Abhijnanasakuntalacarca.
